I live in a small village on the outskirts of Milton Keynes. My first Maine Coon Koonikki Daisy Roots(or Daisy) breed by Fiona Nicholss was bought for me by my husband as a surprise birthday present after years of saying how much I like them. It wasn’t difficult to fall in love with these “gentle giants”. Even my husband was converted; he kept of beautiful boy Tomo and I kept Amber my Red Silver girl from Daisy’s first litter. A  week before Daisy’s litter was due I found out I had Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, her litter and her affection helped me through those days of chemo, so I decided to go into breeding (maybe one day one of their offspring will be able to help someone else)

All of my cats have the run of the house and garden which my husband has made safe for them, he has all so made climbing frames so they can climb and view the countryside around them.

They love the freedom of the garden and will play for hours.

 I am a member of the Maine Coon Cat Club and on the Maine Coon Breeders List, also a member of the Semi Longhair Cat Association and on the Kittenlist.co.uk

 The Maine Coon is known for it’s large size and always admired for its long smooth silky shaggy coat that is shorter on the shoulders and longer on the belly, with wonderful lynx tipped ears and tufts between the toes;

The coat is water resistant and easily groomed, these cats love water, they will often sit on the side of the bath or join you, they will help themselves to water from a tripping tap or dunk their food in water. The males tend to be the clowns while the females retain more dignity both are playful and love to retrieve small items.
